Character Name: Blue Sargent
Series: The Raven Cycle
Character History: Blue Sargent @ TRC Wikia
Character Canon Point: The Raven King ( end of chapter 27 -- aka Not 6:21 ) -- Blue and Gansey have just found their friend Noah possessed by something, Blue nearly loses an eye and all the Gangsey regroup in the hospital waiting room.
Personality: Blue Sargent is sensible.
Or rather, as sensible as an 18-year-old non-psychic raised in a house full of psychics can be. She very rarely acts recklessly -- and the few moments that we do see it are always driven by her emotions rather than her typically more pragmatic way of thinking things through. When she is faced with a problem, she tries to find the most practical answer -- with a curse of killing her true love looming over her head, she'd become especially cautious in her teenage years. She says she sometimes feels 1000 years old, instead of 18. But for as sensible as she is, Blue still sometimes allows her emotions to take the reigns in her decision-making. Blue has been told all her life that her kiss can kill Richard Gansey, her true love, and yet she still toes the line with him many times. The two of them come dangerously close to kissing for no other reason than because Blue wants to 'pretend' that she can. She cares deeply for people close to her and although she often chooses the more selfish option, she's not always doing so for her own personal gain. She keeps her relationship with Gansey a secret from her ex-boyfriend Adam solely because she doesn't want to hurt him, or make things uncomfortable between the three best friends -- which still leads the two into an argument over it in the end. Her hindsight is always 20/20.
She is the person that's more likely to make decisions with her head rather than with her heart. She's logical, she thinks things through, she doesn't usually just jump headfirst into something without some semblance of a plan. This does not make her a coward, by any means, though. When she and Gansey find Noah possessed, she doesn't run away scared, but instead, she faces her fear head-on. She puts herself in danger by continuing to try and communicate with the real part of Noah she knows is still somewhere, hoping to draw him back out. This ultimately leaves Gansey to save her -- not before Noah attacks her, however -- forcing Blue to cut off all the energy that Noah's taking from her. Blue Sargent is brave because she is afraid.
For as much as she doesn't want to be perceived as your "typical teenage girl", Blue very much is. She rather insecure, cares deeply about what people think of her, and craves acceptance -- especially from The Raven Boys. She admits that one of her fantasies is to live at the Monmouth Manufacturing building with the others so that she can feel more a part of their group, hating how different their lives feel from one another. Boys who attend Aglionby are from an entirely different world and Blue knows that aside from their very odd quest, she would otherwise never cross paths with them. She wants to be something more along with them. However, when both Henry and Gansey show up looking for her one day after school, Blue panics over what the rest of her schoolmates will think of her, and whether or not the word will get around that she's a hypocrite (Blue's made her thoughts on Aglionby Boys quite public.). She at first doesn't want her schoolmates to see her hanging around them, but eventually realizes that she just might be the type of girl who'd rather hang around these Raven Boys
Her mother, Maura, often makes her draw a tarot card before she leaves home and it's always the same one: the Page of Cups, the image on which is said to look eerily just like Blue. The meaning, she tells her, is that Blue has so much potential inside of her that she doesn't know about, and Blue searches for that something more constantly. Being only an amplifier, she wants to be anything other than the ordinary girl she feels like in comparison to her mother and aunts, she wants to share their sight. She has dreams bigger than herself and she's afraid that she won't be able to achieve anything and end up stuck in boring Henrietta forever. Blue's mother always tells her just how important her power is, how she and her Aunts wouldn't be as good of Psychics were it not for her. Blue doesn't see it this way, especially when she's surrounded by people who possess so much more than she does.
Underneath it all, Blue has a big heart. She ferociously cares for her family, they've been the only thing stable in her life -- at least the women have, her father disappeared before she was born. They are the only people to accept and encourage her (eccentric clothing choices and all), and they all share a deeper bond that just the psychic one that the older Fox Way women share. When Maura goes missing, Blue feels as though her entire world is tilted and often finds herself worrying that she'll never be able to see her again. Being without someone that she cares about feels like losing a part of herself and it shatters her world to think about it. She fears losing someone else that she loves -- especially when she's known Gansey's fate all of her life.
Blue's pride can be known to get the best of her, which ends up making her stubborn and short-tempered. She can be somewhat narrow-minded once she has (sometimes quickly) made up her mind on something, or someone. She makes an immediate judgment about Gansey and his friends based on nothing more than her own perception of what Aglionby Boys are like (Her two rules when it comes to dating are: 1) stay away from boys because they were trouble, and 2) stay away from Aglionby boys, because they were assholes) and one poorly-orchestrated first encounter -- this, of course, eventually changes once she opens up and comes to know them. Don't let her small stature fool you, she doesn't tolerate anyone treating her as less than and she isn't afraid to stand up for herself. She's quick to put her foot down and tell Adam off when an argument between them ends up with him letting his anger out by yelling at her and kicking things. Plus, she regularly serves pizza to teenage boys with too much money, she's sharp-tongued enough to handle herself when the time calls.
Abilities: Blue has no psychic abilities of her own, despite everyone else in her family possessing them. She is, however, an Amplifier. She makes energy "louder" and makes it easier for others to use that energy, by way of reflecting the energy over and over again to make it stronger (Her power is also described as making her a mirror for energy.). She knows a few basic protection charms from her mother at her aunts, but has no other magical abilities -- other than the curse of killing her true love with a kiss.

Sample 2: video message ; un: sargent
[ The video opens with a black screen and quite a bit of fumbling before Blue Sargent appears ā an 18-year old girl with a mess of dark hair sticking out from the various clips trying to tame it, and what appears to be clothing that swallows up her small frame. ]
Is it working now? [ It takes a moment for the camera to steady and eventually focus on Blue. ] I noticed that there was a shop the other day selling a bunch of different plants.
[ Now here comes the weird part. ]
I might be really getting lost around this place, but⦠itās not there anymore? Does anyone know what Iām talking about? Everyone else I ask keeps telling me there wasnāt any shop, but⦠I saw it.
[ The video frame jostles more as Blue picks her phone back up. ]
Yeah, so⦠any help would really be appreciated.
